It’s that time of the week again…
Yep, it’s Pink Wednesday! 🙂
For some reason I was having a really hard time swatching a color for today. I dunno if it was the polish that wasn’t cooperating or if it was just user error, but I went through 4 manis before I finally settled on what I have for you.
Anyway, for today’s pink tips I used American Apparel Coney Island.
I usually love American Apparel polishes because they have a pretty good formula and they’re highly pigmented (which also makes them great for water marbling). However, Coney Island was a little bit of a problem for me, but I half expected it considering it’s a pastel pink. It was all streaky and uncooperative at first, but it evened out pretty well after 3 coats. I still wasn’t happy with it by itself though, so I topped it off with a coat of Wet ‘N Wild Party of Five Glitters, and it became: A Party on Coney Island. Peep it:
(Sorry my cleanup is kinda poop. I was having a rough time swatching 😦 )
Then because I’ve been a little obsessive with mattifying things lately, I added a coat of Essie Matte About You…
What do you think? Do you prefer it shiny or matte?
I’m kinda diggin’ the way it looks matte. A matte topcoat seems to have a cool effect on glitter.
Anyway, have a happy hump day and keep your eye out for all the other pink manis today! 🙂
Happy Pink Wednesday Peeps!
I’m writing this post before work so I’m gonna try to make it short and sweet.
I did a crackle mani for Pink Wednesday a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve got another one for you today! 🙂
I got OPI Red Shatter from a lovely friend last week, so I decided to play around with it a little bit. I thought it would be cool to paint my nails pink, then put red shatter over them. Then I thought, hmm, I wonder how it would look if I painted my nails red and put pink crackle over them?!?
So I tried it both ways on alternating fingers, and today’s mani was born!
On my index and ring fingers I used OPI I’m Indi-a Mood For Love, with OPI Red Shatter over it, and on my middle and pinky fingers I used American Apparel Downtown L.A. with China Glaze Broken Hearted over it. Check it out:

Hey There Lovelies!
It’s Monday again. *grumble, grumble*
Anyhow, I’m continuing with my month of blues in support of Autism Awareness 🙂
Today I have American Apparel Passport Blue.
Passport Blue is a dark….passport blue. Lol. It really is the same color as a passport, which I guess is navy blue.
I really, really love American Apparel nail polishes because they’re so saturated and almost all of the ones I’ve used have been wonderfully opaque in one coat. (They’re also awesome for water marbling)
Passport Blue is no exception. My only complaint is that it was a tad bit runny, and while I did use a base coat to protect my nails, it still stained my cuticles. As hard as I tried, I could not get it off, so please excuse any stainage you see in the pics below 😦

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!
Today is the final day of my V-day varnish! I hope you guys enjoyed all the manis thus far 🙂
Now it’s time for the pièce de résistance; my official mani for Valentine’s…..
I decided to do a water marble because it is one of the few fancy things that I’ve gotten really good at doing with nail polish and I don’t think I’ll ever get over how cool it looks!
I used American Apparel Downtown L.A. (I was born there!), Zoya Pinta and OPI Rising Star. My color inspiration was this really pretty scarf I bought to go with my outfit for today.

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Saturday night’s all right!
I almost always hear that Elton John song in my head when I think of Saturday. It came out in the early 1970’s, before I was born, but my mom loves Elton John so I grew up listening to him.
Anyway, on with today’s post…
I tried my first gradation manicure the other night. I think the idea and look of it is really awesome, but it can be tricky to find the right kind of nail polish to do it with…at least it was for me.
I played with a couple different colors and ended up using American Apparel Cameo Blue and Nicole by OPI Such A Go-Glitter.
I hope everyone has had a great week so far. I’m happy that the worst of the snowstorm has passed and the roads are pretty clear…mostly because now the mailman has no excuse not to bring me my packages 🙂
I’m expecting many lovely polishes to come in the mail in the next couple of days, so hopefully I’ll get some good swatching done this weekend. In the mean time, I have a quick post for you today displaying some of the different colors that I have tried O.P.I. Black Shatter over.
I’m kind of obsessed with how cool Black Shatter is, and I have a tendency to put a coat of it over a regular mani to extend its wear time. Anyway, check out the pics… Continue reading

I’m so happy tomorrow is Friday!
I haven’t been keeping up with my posts that well because I’ve been super tired this week for some reason 😦
I have a ton of new nail polish to try out and show you guys, but today I was feeling kinda blah from this sucky winter weather so I painted my nails with a happy color to revive me 🙂
I used Poppy from American Apparel. I really love American Apparel because all of their polishes are named after things in California (plus they have great colors and formula). Since I was born and raised there, it makes them really close to my heart.
Growing up in Southern Cali Continue reading
