Aphrodite Lacquers Ambrosia

Hey Peeps! Happy Pink Wednesday!

I haven’t done a pink Wednesday in foreverrrrr…and to be honest, doing one today was an accident. It just so happened that the mani I most recently took pics of was pink 🙂

Anyway,  today I’ve got another lovely indie polish from Etsy. It’s a beautiful glittery jelly called Ambrosia by Aphrodite Lacquers.

Ambrosia is part of Aphrodite Lacquers’ Sandbar collection. It’s a light pink jelly interspersed with fuchsia, pink and silver glitter. It’s super gorgeous on its own, but I was going for a more opaque look so I layered it over Essie Tour de Finance.

In the pics below I used 2 coats of Tour de Finance and 2 coats of Ambrosia. Peep it:

Pretty, right?

You can buy Ambrosia and the other 5 lovelies in the Sandbar Collection from Aphrodite Lacquers’ Etsy shop.

Ambrosia is currently out of stock, but should be back at the end of the month. There are still three other colors from the collection available as I write this post. I own 4 of the 6 in the collection and I definitely recommend all of them, so get your hands on them if you have a chance.

That’s all for today folks. Have a happy hump day!

Lynnderella Change

Hello My Loves!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was good, but alas it is Monday once again 😦

First off, don’t forget that my Blogiversary Giveaway ends tonight! If you haven’t already entered, make sure to get your entry submitted by 11:59PM PST. I’m gonna try to have all the entries validated and the winners notified by Friday. I’m so excited to see who I’m gonna get to ship all the goodies to!

Anyway, today I have another lovely Lynnderella for you. It’s called Change and it’s from her Funny Money and Holiday Houseguests Collection.

I’m horrible at describing nail polish most of the time, so here’s Lynn’s description of it: Change is gold, silver, pewter, copper, and bronze glitter with flecks of holographic gold with multi-coloured accents in a very sparkly gold base. Sounds awesome right? That’s cuz it is!

In the pics below I layered 2 coats of Change over 2 coats of Essie Playa Del Platinum (which is an awesome sandy-colored creme that I totally need to wear more often). You kind of have to do a little fishing for the large glitter chunks, and place them where you want them, but I think the payoff is totally worth the effort. Check it out:

So what do you think of Change?

I always get that Sheryl Crow song “A Change Would Do You Good” stuck in my head when I think of this polish.

You can buy Change online from llarowe, though it’s unfortunately out of stock right now. I always seem to miss when they go on sale, but if you’re lucky enough to catch when the shop is restocked, I’d recommend snagging this baby.

Let me know your thoughts on it, and as hard as it may be, try to have a happy Monday 😉

Essie Go Overboard Collection

Happy Friday Peeps!

Sorry today’s post is up late. I thought I had already written and scheduled it, but apparently that was all in my dreams.

Anyway, today I have one of Essie’s new offerings for Spring: Go Overboard. It’s a collection of 3 new colors (though I’ve seen an extended display in some stores that include 3 re-promotes as well): Go Overboard, Play Date and Armed and Ready.  Let’s check ’em out…

First up we have the collection’s namesake: Go Overboard. I’m in love with this baby. It’s an amazing dark teal creme that applies like a dream. One coat almost got the job done, but 2 coats made it perfect. Peep it:

.

Next we have Play Date. This is a soft purple/lilac creme. I was worried it was gonna be a streaky, thin mess, but the formula was great and it applied easily. In the pic below I used 2 smooth coats.

.

And last, but definitely not least, is Armed and Ready. This baby is a gorgeous little chameleon with some hidden shimmer. It’s a dark army-green with a hint of grey and some golden shimmer thrown in for good measure. Check out the loveliness:

So what do you think of these new Essies? I for one am pretty impressed with them. I always used to think of Essie as a company that made tons of sheer pinks and reds that I was never really interested in, but they’ve done an awesome job of stepping up their game in the past year or so.

Do you own these? Do you have a favorite? Let me know your thoughts and enjoy the rest of your Friday! Yay for the weekend! 🙂

Lynnderella Love Potion No. 99

Happy Monday My Loves!

I have another lovely Lynnderella for you today.  It’s the purpley (yes, I said purpley), glittery loveliness that is Love Potion No. 99.

It’s a violet base packed with glitter in different shapes and shades of purple. It’s full of win. In the pics below I layered 2 coats of it over 2 coats of Essie Play Date(which I’ll have swatches of later this week). Ch-ch-check it out:

Are you lovin’ Love Potion No. 99? How cute is the name by the way?

This is another lovely that I can’t wait to have more fun with by layering it over other colors.

Llarowe will be having Lynnderellas for sale again in the very near future, so if you wanna get your hands on a bottle of this, stay aware!

Let me know what you think of this and have a lovely day! 🙂

NOTD: Essie Carry On & NYX Gilded Glitter

Happy Thursday Peeps!

I’ve just got a quick NOTD post for you with a mani I did using Essie Carry On and NYX Gilded Glitter.

Carry On was one of the only colors I bought from Essie’s Fall 2011 Collection. I’m not usually drawn to colors like this, but I bought it on an impulse when I was at Walgreens one day and I’m super glad that I did. It went on smooth and even in 2 lovely coats. Then I added a coat of the lovely golden glitter amazingness that is NYX Gilded Glitter. I love this baby so much because the glitter shapes are irregular and almost like flakies. It’s one of my favorite glitter topcoats ever.

Peep the pics below-sorry there’s a little tip wear, I took these pics after I had been typing at work :-/

.

So what do you think of this layering combo?

Do you own either of these lovelies?

Let me know your thoughts and don’t forget to enter my giveaway!

Have a lovely Thursday!

Borrowed & Blue

Happy Friday!

I am so beyond happy that today is Friday! Lately I feel like each week gets a little rougher because work has just been kickin’ my butt all over the place. I feel a little neglectful of the blog lately because I’ve been so stressed and exhausted, so I apologize if it takes me a while to respond to comments and emails. I really appreciate of all my lovely readers, and will do my best to keep up with everything 🙂

Anyhow, continuing with my month of blues for Autism Awareness, today I have for you one of the new lovelies from Essie’s Wedding Collection: Borrowed & Blue

I picked this baby up at Ulta last weekend because I had a couple of coupons and decided I needed some polish therapy 🙂

There are 3 other colors in the collection, but this was the only one that I felt I really needed.

On a side note: I’m pretty impressed that Essie seems to have been coming out with at least one standout blue or green shade in the recent collections. They’re usually all pinks and reds, so it’s nice that they’re changing it up a bit.

Anyway, Borrowed & Blue is a really pretty soft, sky blue. I’m all over colors like this! I just think they’re so pretty, and they contrast well with my skin tone.

The application on this was pretty good, which I was a little surprised about because I don’t always have the best luck with Essie’s. It covered well in 2 coats, and I loved it so much when I swatched it that I ended up wearing it as a full mani. Peep the pics:
