NOTD: Zoya Robyn & OPI Gone Gonzo!

Happy Sunday!

Today I’ve got another quick NOTD that I did earlier this week using Zoya Robyn and OPI Gone Gonzo!

Robyn is a gorgeous sky blue creme that applies like a dream. I have a deep love for cremes, and Zoya knows how to do them really well.

I’ve had a thing for doing glittery accent nails with my creme manis lately so I added OPI Gone Gonzo! on my ring finger. I have all of the glitters from the Muppets Collection, but I haven’t been brave enough to wear them as a full mani yet because the glitter is such a pain to remove. I lovelovelove them though.

In the pics below I used 2 coats of Robyn on all nails, and my ring finger is topped with 2 coats of Gone Gonzo! Peep the pics:

That’s it for today my loves! What do you think of this blue mani?

Let me know your thoughts and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

It Was Acceptable In The 80’s

Happy Saturday Loves!

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to an awesome start! I’m so happy I have the weekend off cuz it’s been a rough week.

Anyway, I have another lovely paint splatter mani for you today (you can see my first one here). I, like many of you, fell in love with them after Jen from The Polishaholic posted one. They come out looking so awesome and there are a ton of color combos that you can do.

Plus, they totally remind me of all the paint splatter paraphernalia from the 80’s (which I happen to think was a rockin’ decade since I was born during it 🙂 )

In the pics below I painted my nails with Wet ‘n Wild Black Creme, then I splattered on OPI Alpine Snow and Zoya Mira. Ch-ch-check it out:

So what do you think of this splatter mani? Isn’t it like totally awesome?! 🙂

The whole time I was wearing it I had Calvin Harris’ song “Acceptable in the 80’s” stuck in my head. If you’ve never heard, check it out. It’s pretty awesome in an 80’s throwback kind of way.

How many of you have been inspired to try a splatter mani? If you’ve done one, feel free to leave a link to it in the comments cuz I’d love to see it 🙂

Have a lovely weekend!

True Blood Nails: Bloody French Tips

Happy Sunday Peeps!

I know I’ve been gone for a while again, so I apologize for that. I’m really trying to get back to giving my blog the TLC that it needs, but I’ve had a million things going on lately.

Anyhow, since it’s Sunday I have another True Blood inspired mani for you today.

I got the idea for it from the Mad Dripping Mani post that Sam from Fashion Polish did late last year. I thought it would be cool to try it out with red polish to make it look like blood dripping on my nails. I’m pretty satisfied with how it came out, and it only took a few minutes and very minimal effort. Check it out:

.

First I simply did a drip design with Zoya Sooki right onto my natural nail…

.

.

Then I added some glitter using Milani One Coat Glitter in Red Sparkle because Sookie Stackhouse has fairy blood, and I like to think that fairy blood would be glittery 🙂

So what do you think of these bloody french tips?

I know they’re probably not for everyone, but I like them and they were super easy. Plus they’re definitely serving their purpose as my Truebie mani for this Sunday. Don’t forget to watch tonight! 🙂

True Blood Nails: Blood Spatter Mani

Happy Sunday Peeps!

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Mine has gone by much too fast, but I totally didn’t mind that this week. For once, I have actually been looking forward to Sunday night  because season 4 of True Blood premieres tonight! I’m so, so,so excited!

For 12 lovely weeks, instead of dreading Sunday night with its impending Monday morning, I will look forward to it with excitement and anticipation 🙂

In honor of  tonight’s premiere I decided to do a True Blood-inspired mani. I was originally gonna do something simple with Red and White Shatter, but when I saw this awesome splatter mani tutorial by Jen from The PolishAholic, I knew I had to do some blood splatter nails. I mean, how awesomely fitting right?

I used FingerPaints Don’t Make A Scene for my base color, and I did my “blood splatter” with Zoya Sooki (I couldn’t resist 🙂 ).

It was insanely easy to do and I’m super happy with how it came out. It’s one of my favorite manis ever. I have to warn you that there are quite a few pics because I loved it so much that I couldn’t pick just a couple to use. Check it out:

Doesn’t it remind you of this super hot cover that the main characters did for Rolling Stone?

Yum! I would totally be a fangbanger for all of that Eric Northman-Nordic-vampire-hotness! 🙂

So what do you lovelies think of this? Isn’t it so cool?!

I love how each nail ends up with a different pattern.

I got a lot of compliments on it at work yesterday and everyone was asking me how I did it. Like I said, it was insanely easy to do thanks to Jen’s awesome tutorial, so you should definitely check it out if you wanna recreate the look.

I’m looking forward to trying it with some other colors soon.

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely Sunday, and for all of you True Blood fans, enjoy the show tonight!

Zoya Paz For Pride Week

Hey Peeps!

Sorry its been a few days since I posted again. I swear I’m trying to get better about it, but there just never seem to be enough hours in the day.

Anyhow, as you may or may not know, June is pride month in the LGBT community. This week at work we are having Pride Week and those who wish to show their support are encouraged to wear a different color of the rainbow each day. Since my best gay is leader of our Pride Network, I am of course showing my support and participating 🙂

Today is orange day, so in accordance with that I decided to paint my nails  a lovely shade of orange: Zoya Paz from the 2009 La-Di-Da Summer Collection.

Paz is a neon orange creme, and this baby is super, super bright! I’m kind of disappointed that colors like this are so hard to capture in pics because it’s truly amazing. I don’t often wear orange polish, but I’m in love with this color and it’s perfect for Summer.

In the pics below I used 2 coats. It was a little thicker than I’m used to with Zoya, but it applied really well. It has an odd finish to it that kind of reminds of the finish on the Orly Plastix collection, but I guess that’s cuz it’s a neon. I also added a couple of holographic hearts to my ring finger as a fun little accent. Peep it (Please excuse the tip shrinkage. That darn Seche Vite got me again!):

So what do you think of Paz?

My pictures really don’t do it justice because it is just so bright and awesome.

If you love oranges you definitely need this in your collection.

P.S. I snagged it at Ulta for the old price of $7 which is $1 less than it is on the website, so get it there if you can 🙂

Silver Dove

Happy Saturday Lovelies!

So I just realized that May is almost over and I have yet to post a grey mani for National Brain Tumor Awareness Month.

I have totally been failing at posting lately 😦

Anyway, in support of the lovely Zara from Never Unpolished, I’m gonna try to squeeze in a couple of grey mani posts before the month is over.

Zara has a brain tumor (though she’s thankfully stable) and has been sporting grey tips  all month in support of the cause, so you should definitely check out her blog to see all the cool grey manis she’s come up with thus far 🙂

Here’s mine for today…

I used  2 coats of Zoya Dove from the Spring 2011 Intimate Collection, and I topped it with one coat of NYC Starry Silver Glitter.

I’m happy with how it came out, and I discovered I like grey polish on myself more than I thought I did. Peep it:

Going Green For St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Lovelies!

Even though I’m not Irish, I love St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember.

When I was a little kid it was because I totally thought that little leprechauns would come out and this was the one day I’d have to try to catch one. Also, the elementary school I went to had a field full of clovers, and I was always so sure that on St. Patrick’s day I’d get lucky enough to find a four-leaf clover. I never did, but it was still fun to look 🙂

Now I love it because of Irish Car Bombs and Green Beer 🙂 Plus I have a very deep, deep love for corned beef and cabbage. I know it’s not for everyone, but I could seriously eat it every day of the year.

Anyway, another reason I love it is because I have so much green nail polish that sometimes gets neglected, and St. Patty’s day reminds me to bust it out.

I totally had this awesome water marble planned in my head for today, but when I actually did it, it came out horrendously. It was a total fail. I don’t know what happened because I’m usually pretty good at marbling, but I guess the greens I chose were just not havin’ it. So I ended up swatching a couple of my favorite greens instead 🙂

First up is China Glaze Four Leaf Clover. I think this might be my favorite green polish that I own. It’s just such a bright, pretty green creme, and the application on it is always so lovely.  In the pics below I topped it off with a coat of Sinful Colors Green Ocean, cuz you know, layering with glitter is kind of my thing 🙂
