Independence Day Nails

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I wasn’t really planning on posting today, but I know I love seeing the different manis that everyone comes up with for holidays, so I decided to quickly share my Independence Day nails with you today.

In the pics below I used 3 coats of China Glaze Ride the Waves topped with Lac Attack Rydell Forever on all but my ring finger. On my ring finger I did 2 coats of Zoya Sooki topped with 2 coats of Windestine Asbestos. Peep it:

That’s all for today my loves!

I hope all of my American readers have a happy Independence Day, and for those of you who aren’t celebrating the holiday, have a wonderful Wednesday!

(Lac Attack  and Windestine polishes can be purchased from their Etsy shops here and here)

Whimsical Ideas by Pam – Seuss

Happy Friday Everyone!

My schedule is all thrown off this week because of issues at work, so I almost forgot what day it was.

Anyway, today I have a little indie polish for you from Whimsical Ideas by Pam. It’s called Seuss and it is amazingly awesome!

If you haven’t heard of Whimsical Ideas by Pam, it’s an awesome line of polish sold by its lovely creator Pam through her Facebook page. I don’t remember how I first found her, but the first polish of hers that I saw was Peanut Butter & Jelly (which I’ll have a review on next week) and I fell in love.

Once I looked through pics of her polish on her Facebook page and I saw Seuss, I knew I had to have it.

Seuss is a bright and beautiful sky blue creme/jelly packed with fine blue glitter, medium red hex glitter, and large white hex glitter. It applies like a dream and my favorite part is that you don’t have to fish out the glitter chunks! You get a good variety of all of them with each brush stroke. In the pics below I applied 3 thin coats to get to the opacity that I liked. Check out the amazingness:

Very “Thing 1, Thing 2”-ish, right???

.

.

Isn’t the bottle so cute and…whimsical? 😉 I love the little bow!

.

You can totally see why she named this little beauty Seuss. I’m in love!

The color combination is so perfect. It brings back memories of the old Dr. Seuss books that I learned how to read with when I was little 🙂

What I love most is that Pam sells her polish through email orders. That means there’s no having to stalk Etsy shops at random hours, or worrying about getting what you want in your cart and checking out before others snatch them up. You just email her your choices, then patiently wait a few days for her to invoice you, and voila!

You can  view more pics of Seuss and Pam’s other polishes through her Facebook page here. There’s info about how to order right on the front page. The polishes are $10 each and her shipping prices are really reasonable. Plus, she ships super fast! I got mine 3 days after I paid.

So what do you think of Seuss? Have you tried any of Pam’s polishes? Let me know your thoughts and have fantabulous Friday! 🙂

NOTD: OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! & Milani Gold

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

Yay for Tuesday because it’s not Monday! 🙂

Over the weekend I got a random idea for a blue and gold mani in my head. It was one of those ideas where I was like, “I have to take off my current mani and make it happen right now!” The only problem was that I was pretty sure I had gotten rid of every gold nail polish that I owned because I hate the way it looks on me.

After reaching out for some gold polish ideas on Twitter, and googling gold nail polish like crazy, I realized that I still owned a couple of gold polishes from China Glaze’s Winter collections (because China Glaze polishes are my precious and when I have the entire collections I refuse to part with any single color 😉 ).

Anyway, the mani I have for you today is the result of my idea manifested on my nails 🙂 In the pics below, I used 2 coats of OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! on all but my ring finger. I wanted to bling up my ring finger with Milani Gold, but I didn’t wanna have to use 4 or 5 coats, so I used 2 coats of China Glaze Champagne Bubbles as “underwear”, then I only needed 2 coats of Gold. Peep it:

Do you like?

If you don’t own Yoga-ta Get This Blue!, you need to buy it. I had my bottle for a couple of years and had forgotten what a beautiful blue it is. Plus, the formula is flawless.

Milani Gold is pretty awesome too. You get a good amount of glitter with each brush stroke and you don’t have to fiddle with the glitter chunks too much to get an even application. Plus it’s so cool and blingy! It’s sounds cheesy, but I get why they call it a “Jewel FX” because it’s totally like you have little jewels on your nails. I love it!

Anyway, that’s all for today my loves! Let me know what you think of this gold and blue mani, and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Nerd Lacquer Shiny

Happy Saturday Peeps!

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a good start 🙂

As I mentioned in my last post, all of my posts this month will include blue nail polish in support of Autism Awareness. There are other bloggers that have done, and are doing some awesome blue posts in support of the cause as well. A few of them are:

You should check out their beautiful blue posts if you haven’t already 🙂

Anyway, today my blue is Nerd Lacquer Shiny. Shiny is a beautiful sky blue packed with silver and white glitter in multiple shapes and sizes.

I’ve been impressed with the formula on Nerd Lacquers because it’s thick in a really good way and always applies so smoothly. In the pics below I used 2 coats. Check it out:

Look at all that yummy glitter in the bottle 🙂

.

Isn’t Shiny so awesome? It’s so beautiful that I didn’t even mind that it was a PITA to remove.

It reminds me of Cinderella’s ball gown. Like, if Cinderella’s ball gown were a nail polish, this would be it.

Let me know what you think of this lovely and have an awesome Saturday! 🙂

Blue Nails For Autism Awareness

Happy Monday Loves!

I hope you all survived the start of April yesterday and didn’t have too many tricks played on you. I worked all day so I managed to escape April Fool’s Day unscathed 🙂

Anyway, as you may or may not know, April is Autism Awareness Month. Last year I started somewhat of a tradition on the blog by doing all of my posts for the month of April featuring blue nail polish, as blue is the official color for autism awareness.

I’ve decided to continue the tradition this year, so myself and a few other bloggers will be sporting blue tips throughout the month in support of the cause.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, so I’m kicking off the month with a lovely blue mani featuring Cult Nails Time Traveler and Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe.

Time Traveler is an amazing navy blue creme/jelly. The formula on this is thick and the color is highly pigmented so you can definitely get away with one coat of this baby if you apply it carefully. I would recommend doubling up on the base coat if your nails are prone to stainage because this will definitely give you smurf nails.

In the pics below I used 2 coats of Time Traveler, then topped my ring finger with 2 coats of the amazing glitter goodness of Lippmann Across The Universe. Peep it:

So are any of you sporting blue tips today?

If you’d like to participate in Blue Nails For Autism Awareness, I’d love it if you’d send me a link to your post so I can link it from the blog.

If you don’t have a blog, you can send me pics of your blue mani and I’ll post them here on my blog.

It’s a cute way to support an awesome cause so I hope some of you will join me! 🙂

To find out more about World Autism Awareness Day, you can visit the Autism Speaks website.

You can also find out more by clicking here and visiting the Light It Up Blue website.

The site has some amazing pictures of  prominent buildings and landmarks around the world, such as the Empire State Building in NY and The Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, that are changing their lights to blue tonight in honor of Autism Awareness Day. It’s so awesome!

Anyway, have a happy Monday and wear your blue proudly! 🙂

Dollish Polish We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat

Happy Saturday Loves!

Today I have a lovely  from Dollish Polish to show you. It’s called We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat, and it’s a gorgeous cyan blue peppered with a couple different sizes of red glitter.

For those of you who are not film aficionados, the name of the polish is a quote from the movie Jaws.( I wouldn’t have known that, but luckily there’s a cool little description on the product page. 🙂 )

I was instantly drawn to this color because I love anything blue, and the combination of that and the red glitter is totally awesome and unlike anything else in my stash. In the pics below I used 3 coats to get it to the opacity I liked, but 2 would’ve worked as well. It went on super smooth and easy. Peep it:

Isn’t it beautiful?

Dollish Polish is sold on Etsy. You can click here to get to the shop.

One thing I really love is that Dolly not only sells each color in a regular 0.5 oz bottle for $8, but also in the mini 1/8 oz bottle that you see above for $4. This makes buying every color I want much friendlier on my wallet 🙂 I’ve ordered 8 different polishes from her so far, and I’m totally impressed.

I think that little gems like this are a good alternative for those of us that have gotten so frustrated with the mass hysteria surrounding Lynnderellas. I love my Lynn’s, but I also love amazing polish like this that is so much easier to get my hands on.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried any lovelies from Dollish Polish? Let me know what you think and have a wonderful weekend!

Cyanotic Nails

Hey Peeps!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was short because I only had one day off, but it was still nice.

As I mentioned before, my nails are going through a healing period right now, so I’ve been taking extra special care of them and moisturizing like a fanatic to get them back in shape. As a result I hadn’t painted my nails in like 2 weeks! *gasp*  They were on punishment 😦

Anyway, they’re almost back to the way I like them, so I decided to reward them with a pretty mani last night. I had an idea in my mind of a design that I wanted to do with blues, glitters, and one of the new Bundle Monster plates I got for my birthday, and here’s what came of it…

I started with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring and index fingers, and 2 coats of Misa On The Edge on my middle and pinky fingers. Then I added 2 coats of China Glaze Lorelei’s Tiara on my index, and 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe on my pinky. Lastly, I used On The Edge and plate BM02 to stamp the little lip prints on my ring finger. I smeared the stamp a little, but I’m still super happy with how it came out because I usually suck at stamping to the point that I can’t get the image to even transfer, so yay me! Anyway, here are my cyanotic nails:

Here’s a pic in natural light:

So that’s all for today my loves!

Let me know what you think of my cyanotic mani, and have a happy Monday!
