NOTD: Rockstar Nails Chocolate Empire & Misa Krystal Water

Oh joy, it’s Monday again. 😉

I hope you all had a good weekend. It’s Monday, but I don’t even mind because it’s gonna be a short work week because of the holiday.

Anyway, today I’ve got a quick NOTD that I did using Misa Krystal Water and the gorgeous glitter explosion that is Rockstar Nails Chocolate Empire.

Rockstar Nails is another indie brand that I discovered on Etsy, and when I saw this amazing polish called Chocolate Empire, I knew I had to have it! It’s a mix of small and medium hex glitters in brown, gold and turquoise. I love how the colors look together, and I don’t think I own any other polish with brown glitter in it, so it’s definitely a win. It’s a little thick, but you get amazing coverage with just one coat.

Misa Krystal water is a beautiful turquoise shimmer that almost perfectly matches the turquoise glitter in Chocolate Empire, so I decided to pair them up.

In the pics below I did 3 coats of Krystal Water on all but my ring finger. On my ring finger I did one coat of Zoya Angelina topped with 2 coats of Chocolate Empire. Check it out:

The whole time I wore this I couldn’t stop staring at my nails!

Brown and turquoise is one of my most favorite color combinations, so I was in all kinds of love with this mani.

If you like Chocolate Empire, you can click on over to Rock Star Nails’ Etsy site here. You can snag it for $8.50 a bottle…which speaking of bottles, isn’t the shape of the bottle kind of cool? I don’t see too many other indie polish makers using that particular type of bottle.

Anyway, that’s all for today my loves. Let me know what you think of Chocolate Empire and try to have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Pop Tart Nails

Happy Monday Loves!

Sorry I left you guys without a new post for so long. 2 weeks just flies when you’re busy!

Anyway, today I have a super cute mani that I did using Lacquer Convention Pop Tart and OPI Red Lights Ahead…Where?

Pop Tart is a super awesome polish that’s made to look like the frosting on a pop tart. I think it nails it, cuz it totally looks like a strawberry pop tart to me. I freakin’ love it!

I decided to pair  Red Lights Ahead…where? with it because it reminds me of the color of the filling in a strawberry pop tart. I was kind of disappointed that Red Lights Ahead leans super coral on me, with barely any hint of red because I was really, really wanting it to be red. But I got over it because it turned out to be perfect for this mani.

In the pics below I used 2 creamy coats of Red Lights Ahead on my middle and pinky fingers, and 3  easy coats of Pop Tart on my ring and index. Peep it:

So what do you think of my little pop tart mani?

I love how it came out! Pop Tart is definitely a super fun polish that I see myself wearing again and again. My only regret is that I only got the mini bottle instead of the full-size one.

If you’re loving Pop Tart, you can stalk Lacquer Convention’s Etsy shop here, and try to snag yourself a bottle next time she opens up shop. The mini bottle like I have is only $2.85.  A steal, right?

That’s all for today my loves! Have a magnificent Monday!

NOTD: China Glaze Gothic Lolita & Lynnderella LavenDear

Happy Tuesday!

I know…I know…I’ve been neglectful of the blog again. I really do try to have a regular posting schedule, but life happens. So now I’m just gonna post when I have time and try not to stress about it.

So today I have a NOTD that I did with 2 beautiful purple polishes…Let me preface this by saying that I almost didn’t wanna show you guys this mani because one of the polishes I used is a Lynnderella. I know there’s a lot of drama surrounding them, and it’s frustrating that they’re so hard to get a hold of, but at the end of the day they’re still beautiful polishes IMHO, and that’s that.

Anyway, the lovely purples I used for today’s nails are China Glaze Gothic Lolita and Lynnderella LavenDear.

First of all, if you don’t have Gothic Lolita, GO GET IT NOW! It is an amazingly beautiful polish from China Glaze’s Electropop collection. It’s a gorgeous, medium purple with some awesome hidden shimmer running through it. When I first saw promo pics, I was like, “meh, another purple”. But it’s not just another purple. You really have to see it in person to fully appreciate it, but trust me when I say that you need it. Plus, it’s called Gothic Lolita, which I happen to think is a pretty badass name for a nail polish. It goes on smooth and buttery and is opaque in 2 coats.

On my ring finger I added 2 coats of the purple glitter explosion that is Lynnderella LavenDear. It goes perfectly with Gothic Lolita, so I couldn’t resist doing a glittery accent nail with it. Peep the purple goodness:

So what do you think of this purple mani?

It’s out of the normal range of polish colors that I tend to wear, but I love how it came out.

I know LavenDear is not easy to get your hands on, but Gothic Lolita is pretty easy to find and it’s totally awesome. Also, if you do happen to have LavenDear, I’ve just provided you with the perfect “underwear” for it. You’re welcome 😉

That’s all for today my loves! Enjoy your Tuesdays and be happy that it’s no longer Monday! 🙂

NOTD: OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! & Milani Gold

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

Yay for Tuesday because it’s not Monday! 🙂

Over the weekend I got a random idea for a blue and gold mani in my head. It was one of those ideas where I was like, “I have to take off my current mani and make it happen right now!” The only problem was that I was pretty sure I had gotten rid of every gold nail polish that I owned because I hate the way it looks on me.

After reaching out for some gold polish ideas on Twitter, and googling gold nail polish like crazy, I realized that I still owned a couple of gold polishes from China Glaze’s Winter collections (because China Glaze polishes are my precious and when I have the entire collections I refuse to part with any single color 😉 ).

Anyway, the mani I have for you today is the result of my idea manifested on my nails 🙂 In the pics below, I used 2 coats of OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! on all but my ring finger. I wanted to bling up my ring finger with Milani Gold, but I didn’t wanna have to use 4 or 5 coats, so I used 2 coats of China Glaze Champagne Bubbles as “underwear”, then I only needed 2 coats of Gold. Peep it:

Do you like?

If you don’t own Yoga-ta Get This Blue!, you need to buy it. I had my bottle for a couple of years and had forgotten what a beautiful blue it is. Plus, the formula is flawless.

Milani Gold is pretty awesome too. You get a good amount of glitter with each brush stroke and you don’t have to fiddle with the glitter chunks too much to get an even application. Plus it’s so cool and blingy! It’s sounds cheesy, but I get why they call it a “Jewel FX” because it’s totally like you have little jewels on your nails. I love it!

Anyway, that’s all for today my loves! Let me know what you think of this gold and blue mani, and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

NOTD: Cult Nails Manipulative & Dollish Polish Expecto Patronum

Happy Friday Loves!

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately and haven’t posted, but I’m back today and that’s what counts, right? Right.

Today I’ve got a mani I did with one of the beautiful colors from Cult Nails’ new Divas and Drama Collection. It’s called Manipulative and it’s creamy, shimmery goodness in a bottle.

Manipulative is a pale blue creme that leans a little towards mint green, and it’s full of that subtle shimmer that Cult Nails does so well.  The formula is absolutely fabulous, and I only needed 2 creamy coats to get it smooth and opaque.

On my ring finger I added an accent nail (cuz we all know that’s what I love to do) using the equally beautiful Expecto Patronum from Dollish Polish. It’s a beautiful milky white packed with green glitter in a couple of different shapes. I lovelovelove white polishes like this. It’s got that creme/jelly hybrid thing going on so I used 3 coats to get it to the opacity that I wanted. I think it compliments Manipulative very well. Check it out:

.

So what do you think of these two lovelies?

I really loved this mani…so much so that I wore it for 3 days, which is kind of a big deal for me since I usually change my polish daily.

You can buy Manipulative from Cult Nails’ website here for $10

You can find Expecto Patronum at Dollish Polish’s shop here for $8.75 (though it’s currently sold out 😦 ).

Let me know what you think of this mani and have a fantastic Friday!

NOTD: Cult Nails Vicious

Happy Friday Loves!

I’ve got another quick NOTD for you today using another lovely from Cult Nails (I told you I was on a Cult Nails kick this week 😉 ).

This time I have the beautiful purple creme that is Vicious. It’s a gorgeous deep plum with red undertones, and the formula on it is amazing. It’s kind of thick, but in a really good way. It makes it easy to control and it was thisclose to being a one-coater.

In the pic below I used 2 creamy coats on all but my ring finger, on which I placed a blingy little nail sticker from Kiss. Check it out:

.

.

So what do you think of Vicious? I think it’s one of those awesome purples that’s flattering on every skin tone. Plus it has an awesome formula. Can’t beat that!

Vicious is available for $10 on Cult Nails’ website.

Let me know your thoughts and have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

NOTD: Cult Nails Tied Up & Dollish Polish 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have

Hello my loves!

Phew! This post has a long title, right?! I’m not good at coming up with witty post titles, so I take the easy way out and just use the name of the polish 😉

Anyway, today I have another NOTD that I did using Cult Nails Tied Up and Dollish Polish 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have.

I’ve been on a Cult Nails kick this week because I realized that while I own every color they’ve made, I have not worn or swatched all of them, and that’s just a travesty.

Tied Up is a beautiful, dusty blue that has the creme/jelly formula that Cult Nails does so well. It’s a teeny bit sheer st one coat, but it turns to opaque awesomeness with the second. It’s so pretty and squishy! Lovelovelove it!

The pics below show 2 creamy coats of Tied Up. I added 2 coats of Dollish Polish 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have (which btw earns major points simply for The Hangover reference) as an accent on my ring finger – I’ll have a full review of it later. Peep the pics:

.

.

.

Yay for beautiful blues and a little bit of bling!

Tied Up is unfortunately not available at this time as I believe there were only a limited number of bottles of it produced, and I don’t know that they have plans to make more. But you can still hop on over to Cult Nails’ website and check out their other amazing polishes. Like I said, I own every single one and have yet to be disappointed 🙂

Anyway, let me know what you think of today’s mani and have a happy hump day!
