Indie Spam: Different Dimension

Hey Peeps! Happy Pink Wednesday! I’m Baaaaack! 🙂

I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted. I can’t believe that it’s been over a month!

Life got a little hectic, then I had a really, really, really bad break on one of the nails on my swatching hand (we’re talking down into the nail bed. Ouch!), so I haven’t had the chance to swatch in a while.

Anyway, the break has grown out enough for my nails to be presentable again, but you’ll notice that they’re still a bit shorter than normal because I had to file them all down to keep everything even. So I’m kind of rockin’ some nubs right now.

All of that aside, I have some really cool polishes that I’m super excited to share with you today. They’re from a new indie brand called Different Dimension, and the creator, Missi, makes beautiful polishes with some pretty awesome names… Some of which happen to derive from one of my favorite movies ever: Mean Girls!

In the spirit of Pink Wednesday, the first lovely I have for you is On Wednesdays We Wear Pink. I was happy dancing inside and out when I saw the name of this baby. And the polish itself is awesome as well. It’s a pink creme base interspersed with different sizes of darker pink and holographic glitter. This one is a smooth 2-coater:

.

Next we have That Is So Fetch. “Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen!” 😉

This polish consists of tons of different shades, shapes, and sizes of purple glitter packed in a clear base. In the pic below I have 2 coats layered over Zoya Mira. I would recommend waiting for each coat to dry before adding another so it doesn’t get goopy on the nail, otherwise I had no application issues. Love it!:

.

.

And then we have the awesomeness that is Boo, You Whore!. I love that line from the movie so much that I made a habit out of saying it way too often. I would’ve loved this polish no matter what it looked like, just because of the name. Luckily it’s beautiful, so that adds to my love for it. It kind of makes me think of a blue version of That Is So Fetch. In the pic below I have 2 coats over China Glaze Sexy In The City. Again, you’ll want to wait for each coat to dry on this one, but application was a breeze:

.

.

And last, but definitely not least is Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. This one is obviously not from Mean Girls. But it is from The Big Bang Theory, which is one of favorite TV shows. I’m totally in love with this one. It’s packed with a beautiful combination of white, light blue, grey and light green glitter. I don’t have anything like it and I love the way the colors look together. I layered 2 coats of it over Zoya Wednesday, and again, had no issues. Peep it:

.

.

I’m pretty impressed by these lovelies from Different Dimension.

I know it feels like a new indie brand pops up every day, so it can be a little tricky to know which ones are actually worth your money or not. I would say that these are. I think a lot of thought and love are put into each polish. Also, I’m a sucker for a cute name 🙂

And here’s something even more awesome: Missi was kind enough to create a 20% off coupon code for my lovely readers to use in her shop for the next 2 weeks.

The coupon code is: colourcoated. It will be good until September 5th, so click on over to her Etsy shop here and snag some of her beautiful creations. I know there are a few that I’ve already got my eye on.

That’s all for today my loves! Let me know what you think of these new polishes and have a happy hump day!

Pink Wednesday: OPI Divine Swine & China Glaze Traffic Jam

Happy Pink Wednesday Loves!

Today I’ve got a quick NOTD that I did using the lovely China Glaze Traffic Jam and the glittery goodness of OPI Divine Swine.

I’m making this post short and sweet, but I have to say that I lovelovelove Traffic Jam! It’s creamy and wonderful and perfect…mmm I adore a good creme! I only had to use one coat for full coverage. In the pics below, I topped it off with 2 coats of Divine Swine to bling it up a little for Pink Wednesday. Peep it:

Pink Wednesday: Glitter Gal Fuchsia 3D Holo

Happy Pink Wednesday Loves!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve participated in Pink Wednesday, so I decided to jump back on the train today.

I have another Glitter Gal holo for you today. Are you getting sick of these yet? 🙂

Fuchsia 3D Holo is another beauty that I got the chance to review from the lovely Leah Anne at Llarowe, and as with all the other Glitter Gal holos I own, I’m in love. It’s a beautiful pale fuchsia with a linear holo effect.

In the pics below I used 3 coats. Once again, amazing formula, easy application, and excellent color payoff. Peep it:

That’s all for this lovely Pink Wednesday!

Pink Wednesday: Fun With Nfu Oh 50!

Happy Hump Day Loves!

It’s Pink Wednesday Again! 🙂

Today I have a fun layering look done with the lovely Nfu Oh 50

There’s always a lot of love shown for Nfu Oh 51 and 52, which are indeed amazingly gorgeous, but what about their sister 50? She’s pretty too!

Nfu Oh 50 is a pinkish/lavender jelly with light green flakies in it. It’s very thin, so it’s not too special on its own, but start layering it and her true beauty comes out.

Being as it’s Pink Wednesday and all, I decided to see what it would look like over a pink polish, so I used Wet ‘n Wild Tickled Pink as my base. Tickled Pink on its own is kind of a mess. The application is all streaky and chalky, so I’m not sure I’d wear it by itself, but layer a couple of coats of Nfu Oh 50 on top and you’ve got a whole new level of pretty.

In the pics below I used 3 coats of Tickled Pink and 2 coats of 50. Peep it:

.

.

.

Mmm, subtle but yummy flakey goodness! 🙂

50 doesn’t stand out as well over a light color as it does over a dark one, but I think it still looks nice.

Do you prefer flakies like this layered over light or dark colors? Let me know what you think and have a lovely Pink Wednesday! 🙂

Orly Happy Go Lucky

Happy Pink Wednesday Loves!

One day closer to Friday! Woot woot!

I’m so behind on swatching at the moment, so I know I’m late on this, but today I have Orly’s Happy Go Lucky Collection.

I really like the idea of this collection because it’s  got some bright, fun shades for those of us still holding on to our summery colors when all the fall collections are already rolling out.

Anyway, let’s get down to the goods. In all of the pics below I used 2 coats, no topcoat. And since it’s Pink Wednesday, let’s start with the beautiful pink from the collection…

Flirty is a gorgeous, bright pink shimmer. I can’t believe how much I loved this one on! The shimmer is just so pretty, plus it’s highly pigmented and the application was really great.

.

.

Fresh is another fave. It’s an amazing green creme that reminds me of the color of fresh-cut grass. Love it. This one I actually had to use 3 coats for because it was a little thin, but the color payoff is totally worth it.

.

.

Frolic is a lovely magenta-ish  creme (the press release says it’s purple, but I think it has enough pink to it that it can be called magenta). This baby was almost a one coat wonder and it applied like buttah.

.

.

And last, but definitely not least, is Frisky. Ahh! I love this color sososo much! This type of color is right up my alley. Whenever I see any polish in this color family I have to get my hands on it no matter how many other ones I may have like it. My one and only complaint is that the formula on this was a bit runny. However, I’m so in love with it that I can completely overlook that. This lovely is definitely my favorite of the collection.

.

.

.

So what do you guys think of this collection? Do you have a favorite?

I feel like Orly did a bang up job with this one. All of the colors are gorgeous and the collection feels really cohesive. In fact, they go so well together that I’m planning on doing a splatter mani with them, so look for that to come in the near future 🙂

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a happy hump day, and as usual don’t forget to hop on over to http://onwednesdayswewearpink.com to check out all the pretty pink tips today! You can also follow @PinkWednesday on twitter 🙂

Pink Wednesday: GOSH Flamingo

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

I can’t believe it, but I haven’t done a Pink Wednesday in a couple of weeks! *gasp*

Since I’m attempting to get back into my blogging groove, I made sure not to miss it this week!

Today I’ve got a little beauty that I received in a swap that I did with Kirsten and Nicole a few months ago: GOSH Flamingo  (You can check out Kirsten’s beautiful nails on her blog Glittagloves…Nicole’s lovely tips make an appearance there sometimes too :))

Flamingo is a gorgeous bright pink creme. It starts off feeling a little sheer and squishy like a jelly, but after a second coat it transforms into creamy opaque awesomeness. It glides on like buttah and dries super fast.

In the pics below I decided to get a little creative with one of my dotting tools and added a simple little design using Wet ‘n Wild French White Creme. Peep it:

.

.

That’s it for this Pink Wednesday! What do you think of Flamingo?

As always, don’t forget to check out the other PW manis today on onwednesdayswewearpink.com

And just for fun here’s a little Mean Girls goody:

Did you have an awesome time? Did you drink awesome shooters, listen to awesome music, and then just sit around and soak up each others awesomeness?”

Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Pink Wednesday: Solar Powered Crackle

Hey there lovelies! Happy Pink Wednesday!

I hope everyone’s week is going well so far 🙂

First off I wanna say that I’m completely blown away by the fact that we have over 150 lovely nail bloggers participating in Pink Wednesday now! That’s freakin’ amazing! We never thought it would be this successful when we decided to do it, but we’re so thrilled that so many lovelies like the idea and joined in with us!

Anyhow let’s get to my offering for today…

As I mentioned yesterday, June is Pride Month in the LGBT community and at my job we’re having Pride Week this week. Yesterday was our day to wear orange, and today is our day to wear yellow. As I am showing my support as a “straight ally” I decided to paint my nails yellow. And since it’s Wednesday, I had to add some pink to them too…

In the pics below I used 3 coats of China Glaze Solar Power and topped it with a coat of China Glaze Broken Hearted. Check it out:

.

.

.

I’m really loving how this came out! When I saw the finished product I thought, why have I not tried this combo before?! It’s so cute!

It just goes to show that I’m not close to being over crackle/shatter yet because I keep finding awesome color combos that renew my love for it.

What do you think of this combo? Are you rockin’ pink tips today?
