NOTD: China Glaze Gothic Lolita & Lynnderella LavenDear

Happy Tuesday!

I know…I know…I’ve been neglectful of the blog again. I really do try to have a regular posting schedule, but life happens. So now I’m just gonna post when I have time and try not to stress about it.

So today I have a NOTD that I did with 2 beautiful purple polishes…Let me preface this by saying that I almost didn’t wanna show you guys this mani because one of the polishes I used is a Lynnderella. I know there’s a lot of drama surrounding them, and it’s frustrating that they’re so hard to get a hold of, but at the end of the day they’re still beautiful polishes IMHO, and that’s that.

Anyway, the lovely purples I used for today’s nails are China Glaze Gothic Lolita and Lynnderella LavenDear.

First of all, if you don’t have Gothic Lolita, GO GET IT NOW! It is an amazingly beautiful polish from China Glaze’s Electropop collection. It’s a gorgeous, medium purple with some awesome hidden shimmer running through it. When I first saw promo pics, I was like, “meh, another purple”. But it’s not just another purple. You really have to see it in person to fully appreciate it, but trust me when I say that you need it. Plus, it’s called Gothic Lolita, which I happen to think is a pretty badass name for a nail polish. It goes on smooth and buttery and is opaque in 2 coats.

On my ring finger I added 2 coats of the purple glitter explosion that is Lynnderella LavenDear. It goes perfectly with Gothic Lolita, so I couldn’t resist doing a glittery accent nail with it. Peep the purple goodness:

So what do you think of this purple mani?

It’s out of the normal range of polish colors that I tend to wear, but I love how it came out.

I know LavenDear is not easy to get your hands on, but Gothic Lolita is pretty easy to find and it’s totally awesome. Also, if you do happen to have LavenDear, I’ve just provided you with the perfect “underwear” for it. You’re welcome 😉

That’s all for today my loves! Enjoy your Tuesdays and be happy that it’s no longer Monday! 🙂

NOTD: Cult Nails Vicious

Happy Friday Loves!

I’ve got another quick NOTD for you today using another lovely from Cult Nails (I told you I was on a Cult Nails kick this week 😉 ).

This time I have the beautiful purple creme that is Vicious. It’s a gorgeous deep plum with red undertones, and the formula on it is amazing. It’s kind of thick, but in a really good way. It makes it easy to control and it was thisclose to being a one-coater.

In the pic below I used 2 creamy coats on all but my ring finger, on which I placed a blingy little nail sticker from Kiss. Check it out:

So what do you think of Vicious? I think it’s one of those awesome purples that’s flattering on every skin tone. Plus it has an awesome formula. Can’t beat that!

Vicious is available for $10 on Cult Nails’ website.

Let me know your thoughts and have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

NOTD: Hot Purple Jelly Sandwich

Happy Thursday Peeps!

I’m super excited because my weekend started today, so yay for being off of work until next week! I got a ton of lovely nail mail the past couple of days, so I’m gonna try to have a swatch-fest while I’m off so I can show you guys all the goods 🙂

A quick update on the giveaway: I’m validating entries as you read this, so I’m hoping to have the winners notified and announced within the next couple of days. Thanks for your patience 🙂

Anyway, today I have a lovely little jelly sandwich that I did using New York Summer Hot Purple and NOPI Rainbow In The S-Kylie. I lovelovelove Hot Purple. If you don’t own it, you need to get it because it is the most perfectly awesome jelly ever!

In the pics below I used 1 coat of Rainbow In The S-Kylie sandwiched between 4 coats (2 on top, 2 on the bottom) of Hot Purple. You can definitely see some major VNL, but it’s a jelly, so that’s expected. However, in real life, the purple shows up darker and looks more opaque, so the VNL is far less noticeable. Peep it:

.

.

And just for fun, I wanted to show you guys my new tattoo 🙂 A friend on twitter (who has a cute knitting blog you can view here) tweeted a pic of a tattoo she’d gotten on her finger and I fell in love, so I had to go get one of my own.

I took Latin for like 4 years in high school and college, and I’m left-handed, so I thought it would be cool to get the Latin word for “left” tattooed on my finger. It just so happens that “left” in Latin is “sinister” 😉

.

That’s it for today my loves! What do you think of my little jelly sandwich?

I’m pretty sure I need like a million bottles of Hot Purple because it’s so perfect. I don’t know if they sell it in stores, but I got my bottle from Trans Design for like $1.75 or something.

Let me know your thoughts on this mani, and have a terrific Thursday!

Lynnderella Love Potion No. 99

Happy Monday My Loves!

I have another lovely Lynnderella for you today.  It’s the purpley (yes, I said purpley), glittery loveliness that is Love Potion No. 99.

It’s a violet base packed with glitter in different shapes and shades of purple. It’s full of win. In the pics below I layered 2 coats of it over 2 coats of Essie Play Date(which I’ll have swatches of later this week). Ch-ch-check it out:

Are you lovin’ Love Potion No. 99? How cute is the name by the way?

This is another lovely that I can’t wait to have more fun with by layering it over other colors.

Llarowe will be having Lynnderellas for sale again in the very near future, so if you wanna get your hands on a bottle of this, stay aware!

Let me know what you think of this and have a lovely day! 🙂

a-england Lady of the Lake

Hey Peeps!

I hope you’ve all had a great week so far! Yay for tomorrow being Friday!

Today I have another beauty from a-england for you called Lady of the Lake.

Lady of the Lake is an insanely gorgeous, dusty purple full of holographic shimmer. The formula on this baby is amazing! Just like Galahad, it basically applied itself. I had no problems with it whatsoever because it’s just full of awesome. In the pics below I used 2 lovely coats (though 1 could’ve gotten the job done). Peep it:

Definitely another winner from a-england. I’m in love.

You can purchase any of the a-england beauties here from the shop of the lovely Leah Ann-a US stockist for a-england, or from the a-england website here.

What are your thoughts on Lady of the Lake? Do you like scattered holos like this, or are they a pass for you?

*I should be announcing the winners of my giveaway tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that!*

Sinful Colors Amethyst and China Glaze Electric Lilac

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Sorry today’s post is a bit late, I couldn’t drag myself out of bed this morning. I’m still feeling kinda crummy so I’m gonna try to keep this short and sweet…

First up is Sinful Colors Amethyst. This is a beautiful purple creme that just came out in their new Go Plaid collection. I had to snag this baby because I love purples and I’m always excited when Sinful Colors come out with new shades.

In the pics below I used 2 coats. It went on perfectly and it’s super shiny even without a topcoat. Peep it:

.

As pretty as Amethyst is, I couldn’t leave it alone so I decided to top it off with the glittery goodness of China Glaze Electric Lilac.

Electric Lilac is a gorgeous lilac jelly packed with tons of pale blue, pink and purple glitter. It’s freakin’ amazing. In the pics below I used one coat of it over Amethyst:

See why I can’t get enough purple polish and why I have more purples than any other color in my stash? It’s because of beauties like these two.

Let me know what you think of these lovelies, and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

Cult Nails Enigmatic and Hypnotize Me

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

I had a different post lined up for today, but per the request of the lovely Jana from Jeweled Tips, I decided to go ahead and show you a couple of colors from Cult Nails’ new fall collection: Hypnotic.

This is the 3rd collection from Cult Nails, and just like the other two, it’s super amazing. Maria does an awesome job of developing beautiful colors and excellent formulas, and I’ve yet to be disappointed with any of her polishes.

The Hypnotic collection consists of four colors; Enigmatic, Hypnotize Me, Awakening, and In a Trance. Today I have pics of the first two…

First up is Enigmatic. This beauty is a gorgeous shade of eggplant purple full of silver, pink, blue and purple shimmer. I lovelovelove this color so much. I’m a huge fan of purples, and as many as I have, I don’t think I have a dupe for this, so that makes it even more amazing.

This one worried me a little with the first coat because it was a little thin, but by the 2nd coat it turned into opaque awesomeness. However, I used 3 coats in the pics below just to add some depth. Peep it (sorry the 2nd pic is a little blurry, my camera freaks out when I try to photograph purples 😦 ):

.

.

.

And then we have the awesomesauce that is Hypnotize Me. It’s a pale green jelly packed with tons and tons of blue and green glitter. It reminds me a lot of Sinful Colors Green Ocean (except Green Ocean has flakies). This one is a little thick, but I think that’s to be expected with as much awesome glittery, jelly goodness as it has.

In the pics below I layered one coat of it over Enigmatic and it transformed it into the amazingness that you see:

Ok you guys, I’m so in love with these! With each new collection, I am becoming more and more impressed with the amazing polishes that Cult Nails is cranking out.

I haven’t swatched the other 2 colors yet, but I’m gonna go ahead and say that if you only buy one color from this new collection it should be Hypnotize Me. It’s so ridiculously amazing, and the layering possibilities it has are endless!

I’ll have the other 2 colors in the collection for you later this week, but for now, what do you think of these 2 beauties? Are you as much in love with them as I am?

If you are, you can hop on over and order them here for $10 each. 🙂
