NOTD: Models Own Aqua Violet & Wet ‘n Wild Believe Me, It’s Real

It’s Monday again… *le sigh*

First off, I did a guest post for the lovely Marta over at Chit Chat Nails yesterday. I did some Burlesque nails that I’m pretty proud of, so check it out here if you haven’t already. 🙂

Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine went by way too fast, as usual.

I was planning on getting a ton of swatching done this weekend of all the new pretties I got, but laziness kicked in and I didn’t get around to it. So today I’m showing you the guys the mani that I’m currently wearing.

After having it for months without trying it, I finally decided to get into my Models Own Beetle Juice Collection. I did a post showing Golden Green last week, and today I have Aqua Violet.

This one has a stronger duochrome effect than Golden Green, and as the name suggests, it’s aqua and violet. I tried to capture the color change, but in the pics below you can mostly see the aqua with a hint of the violet at the edges. It’s much stronger in person. The formula on it was a little thin, so I had to use 3 coats, but it was very smooth and easy to apply.

As I am wont to do, I decided to add a little bling on my ring finger, so I layered on one coat of Wet ‘n Wild Believe Me, It’s Real. It has turquoise and purple glitter in it, so I thought it would compliment Aqua Violet well. Peep it:

What do you think of this mani?

I’m slowly working my way through the Beetle Juice Collection (I know, I know…I’m so late), and I’m loving each color so far.

Aqua Violet and the other lovelies from The Beetle Juice Collection can be purchased on the Models Own website for £5 ($8) individually, or £20 ($32)  for the set + a top coat/base coat.

Let me know what you think of Aqua Violet and have a great day! 🙂

NOTD: Models Own Golden Green & Wet ‘n Wild Give Me A Price Quote

Happy Saturday Loves!

Look at me doing a post 2 days in a row! Go me!

I usually forget to take pics of polish that I actually wear as a full mani rather than just swatches, but I remembered today! I’ve been on a green polish kick lately so I decided to finally bust out my Models Own Beetle Juice collection and give Golden Green a try.

First of all, I have no idea why it’s taken me this long to wear anything from the Beetle Juice collection. Though some people were underwhelmed by it, I happen to think it rocks. Secondly, why have I not tried Models Own polishes before?!  I love how smoothly they apply!

Anyway, in the pics below you can see the glowy green goodness that is Golden Green. The duochrome effect isn’t the best I’ve seen, but I still think it’s beautiful. I used 3 smooth coats, then added a little bling on my ring finger with 1 coat of Wet ‘n Wild Give Me A Price Quote. Ch-ch-check it out:

And just for fun, here are a couple of pics of my awesome fingerless gloves. Yay for beauty and warmth!

That’s all for today peeps!

Do you own any colors from the Beetle Juice collection? How do you feel about them?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Nubar Black Polka Dot and White Polka Dot

Hey Peeps!

I’m gonna try to make this post short and sweet because I’ve been working a different schedule at work the past few days, and I’m kind of out of my mind with tiredness because I’m not used to it.

Anyway, today I have a couple of lovelies from Nubar for you: Black Polka Dot and White Polka Dot.

Both of them are glitter topcoats that are intended to make it look like you have polka dots on you nails (which I happen to think is a pretty awesome idea). Black Polka Dot is full of black glitter, while White Polka Dot is full of white/silver glitter. The glitter in both consists of small round and large hexagon pieces.

In the pics below I layered 1 coat of Black Polka Dot over 3 coats of Wet ‘n Wild White Creme and 1 coat of White Polka Dot over 2 coats of Wet ‘n Wild Black Creme. Check ’em out:

I really like these because it’s a cute idea, and I totally see myself layering both of them over other colors – especially Black Polka Dot because it’s such a perfect black glitter! The only thing is you kinda have to place the larger pieces of glitter because they have a tendency to move around, but it’s nothing too annoying.

So what do you think of them? Let me know and have a happy Tuesday! 🙂
