Oh joy, it’s Monday again. 😉
I hope you all had a good weekend. It’s Monday, but I don’t even mind because it’s gonna be a short work week because of the holiday.
Anyway, today I’ve got a quick NOTD that I did using Misa Krystal Water and the gorgeous glitter explosion that is Rockstar Nails Chocolate Empire.
Rockstar Nails is another indie brand that I discovered on Etsy, and when I saw this amazing polish called Chocolate Empire, I knew I had to have it! It’s a mix of small and medium hex glitters in brown, gold and turquoise. I love how the colors look together, and I don’t think I own any other polish with brown glitter in it, so it’s definitely a win. It’s a little thick, but you get amazing coverage with just one coat.
Misa Krystal water is a beautiful turquoise shimmer that almost perfectly matches the turquoise glitter in Chocolate Empire, so I decided to pair them up.
In the pics below I did 3 coats of Krystal Water on all but my ring finger. On my ring finger I did one coat of Zoya Angelina topped with 2 coats of Chocolate Empire. Check it out:
The whole time I wore this I couldn’t stop staring at my nails!
Brown and turquoise is one of my most favorite color combinations, so I was in all kinds of love with this mani.
If you like Chocolate Empire, you can click on over to Rock Star Nails’ Etsy site here. You can snag it for $8.50 a bottle…which speaking of bottles, isn’t the shape of the bottle kind of cool? I don’t see too many other indie polish makers using that particular type of bottle.
Anyway, that’s all for today my loves. Let me know what you think of Chocolate Empire and try to have a marvelous Monday! 🙂
It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Yay!
I loooooove football, so even though my team (the Colts) sucked this year and didn’t make it, I’m still super excited about the Super Bowl today.
It’s gonna be The Giants vs. The Patriots and I’m rooting for the Giants…mostly because Eli Manning is their quarterback, and if I can’t root for Peyton Manning and the Colts, the Giants are the next best option 🙂
Anyway, against my better judgement, I decided to show you guys my pathetic attempt at a Super Bowl mani today. We all know I suck at nail art, so combine that with being totally uninspired, and you get the mani you see below. The bonus is it works for whichever team you’re rooting for because both teams’ colors include red, white, and blue. Peep it:
My index is China Glaze High Roller, ring is OPI Alpine Snow and pinky is Misa On The Edge-all topped with Milani Jewel FX in Red. My middle finger is a pathetic attempt at a football using Zoya Angelina and a random white striper
So there you have my less than wonderful attempt at a Super Bowl mani.
Are any of you sporting some spirit fingers today?
What team are you rooting for?
I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was short because I only had one day off, but it was still nice.
As I mentioned before, my nails are going through a healing period right now, so I’ve been taking extra special care of them and moisturizing like a fanatic to get them back in shape. As a result I hadn’t painted my nails in like 2 weeks! *gasp* They were on punishment 😦
Anyway, they’re almost back to the way I like them, so I decided to reward them with a pretty mani last night. I had an idea in my mind of a design that I wanted to do with blues, glitters, and one of the new Bundle Monster plates I got for my birthday, and here’s what came of it…
I started with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring and index fingers, and 2 coats of Misa On The Edge on my middle and pinky fingers. Then I added 2 coats of China Glaze Lorelei’s Tiara on my index, and 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe on my pinky. Lastly, I used On The Edge and plate BM02 to stamp the little lip prints on my ring finger. I smeared the stamp a little, but I’m still super happy with how it came out because I usually suck at stamping to the point that I can’t get the image to even transfer, so yay me! Anyway, here are my cyanotic nails:
Here’s a pic in natural light:
So that’s all for today my loves!
Let me know what you think of my cyanotic mani, and have a happy Monday!

Hey Lovelies! Happy Thursday!
Yay for Thursdays because they’re one day closer to Friday! 🙂
I’m super excited because today I have for you Misa’s Summer 2011 Collection – Paradise Shore.
I love Misa in all kinds of ways because their formula is always so stellar, and I almost never ever have a complaint about them.
As you can imagine, I was so thrilled when I saw the press release on their Summer collection because it looked like it was filled with a lot of bright, tropical colors and it said they were glittery! Ahh, glitters. You have a special place in my heart.
I know the colors aren’t totally unique as the palette is very similar to a couple of other companies’ summer offerings – namely China Glaze’s Island Escape Collection (which I still need to post) – but ya know, it’s summer! There are only so many colors to choose from!
Besides, the Misas have different finishes. They’re all shimmery, glittery, jelly loveliness. 🙂
Anyhow, let’s get on to the pics shall we?….
First up is Endless Keys. I looooove this bright orange. It is so gorgeous and it applied like a dream. It’s a glass-flecked jelly. Yum! I used 2 coats for the pics below.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Lovelies!
Even though I’m not Irish, I love St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember.
When I was a little kid it was because I totally thought that little leprechauns would come out and this was the one day I’d have to try to catch one. Also, the elementary school I went to had a field full of clovers, and I was always so sure that on St. Patrick’s day I’d get lucky enough to find a four-leaf clover. I never did, but it was still fun to look 🙂
Now I love it because of Irish Car Bombs and Green Beer 🙂 Plus I have a very deep, deep love for corned beef and cabbage. I know it’s not for everyone, but I could seriously eat it every day of the year.
Anyway, another reason I love it is because I have so much green nail polish that sometimes gets neglected, and St. Patty’s day reminds me to bust it out.
I totally had this awesome water marble planned in my head for today, but when I actually did it, it came out horrendously. It was a total fail. I don’t know what happened because I’m usually pretty good at marbling, but I guess the greens I chose were just not havin’ it. So I ended up swatching a couple of my favorite greens instead 🙂
First up is China Glaze Four Leaf Clover. I think this might be my favorite green polish that I own. It’s just such a bright, pretty green creme, and the application on it is always so lovely. In the pics below I topped it off with a coat of Sinful Colors Green Ocean, cuz you know, layering with glitter is kind of my thing 🙂

Happy Fat Tuesday Ya’ll 🙂
Ok, so I am so slow…I totally thought that Fat Tuesday was next Tuesday, and not today. It only occurred to me last night that I was sorely mistaken. I totally fail when it comes to keeping track of days of the week and things like that, so I keep a huge calendar on my desk at work and I set up reminders in my cell phone…apparently those didn’t help me this time.
Anyhow, I was totally planning on doing an awesome Mardi Gras water marble for today, but as it snuck up on me, I didn’t get the chance to. But you know what? I’m still gonna do one this weekend because that’s just how I roll 🙂
So instead, I have a mani featuring a nail polish that is still awesomely fitting for the day…
Misa Blame It On Fat Tuesday
It’s a fabulous bright green creme that came out in Misa’s Mardi Gras Collection in Spring of last year, and I totally lovelovelove it! The formula on it was a little thin, which is unusual for Misa, but it built up nicely with 2 coats and I had no application issues.
Before we get to the pics, let me share one more thing…tragedy befell one of the nails on my swatching hand last night and it was reduced to a little nubbin 😦 I refuse to file all my other nails down to match it, so until it grows out I’m gonna be swatching my right hand.
So let’s give righty a warm welcome to the blog…excuse her if she’s a little shy and awkward. She’s just not used to all the attention yet, haha 🙂

I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend so far! I spent a good portion of my day yesterday revamping the blog to give it a new look. You likey?
Anyway, today I have some lovelies from Misa’s Spring 2011 9 to 5 Collection
The collection consists of 6 new shades: Pay Days Are Happy Days, Coffee Pick Me Up, PaintMyNails@Work, Blush Hour, Working Hard or Hardly Working, and Office Polish-tics.
The two I have swatched today are Office Polish-tics and PaintMyNails@Work (both of which I bought because I loved the names).
Even though I only have a few bottles of Misa, they really are one of my favorite nail polish brands because Continue reading
