NOTD: Rockstar Nails Chocolate Empire & Misa Krystal Water

Oh joy, it’s Monday again. 😉

I hope you all had a good weekend. It’s Monday, but I don’t even mind because it’s gonna be a short work week because of the holiday.

Anyway, today I’ve got a quick NOTD that I did using Misa Krystal Water and the gorgeous glitter explosion that is Rockstar Nails Chocolate Empire.

Rockstar Nails is another indie brand that I discovered on Etsy, and when I saw this amazing polish called Chocolate Empire, I knew I had to have it! It’s a mix of small and medium hex glitters in brown, gold and turquoise. I love how the colors look together, and I don’t think I own any other polish with brown glitter in it, so it’s definitely a win. It’s a little thick, but you get amazing coverage with just one coat.

Misa Krystal water is a beautiful turquoise shimmer that almost perfectly matches the turquoise glitter in Chocolate Empire, so I decided to pair them up.

In the pics below I did 3 coats of Krystal Water on all but my ring finger. On my ring finger I did one coat of Zoya Angelina topped with 2 coats of Chocolate Empire. Check it out:

The whole time I wore this I couldn’t stop staring at my nails!

Brown and turquoise is one of my most favorite color combinations, so I was in all kinds of love with this mani.

If you like Chocolate Empire, you can click on over to Rock Star Nails’ Etsy site here. You can snag it for $8.50 a bottle…which speaking of bottles, isn’t the shape of the bottle kind of cool? I don’t see too many other indie polish makers using that particular type of bottle.

Anyway, that’s all for today my loves. Let me know what you think of Chocolate Empire and try to have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Super Bowl Nails

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Yay!

I loooooove football, so even though my team (the Colts) sucked this year and didn’t make it, I’m still super excited about the Super Bowl today.

It’s gonna be The Giants vs. The Patriots and I’m rooting for the Giants…mostly because Eli Manning is their quarterback, and if I can’t root for Peyton Manning and the Colts, the Giants are the next best option 🙂

Anyway, against my better judgement, I decided to show you guys my pathetic attempt at a Super Bowl mani today. We all know I suck at nail art, so combine that with being totally uninspired, and you get the mani you see below. The bonus is it works for whichever team you’re rooting for because both teams’ colors include red, white, and blue. Peep it:

.

My index is China Glaze High Roller, ring is OPI Alpine Snow and pinky is Misa On The Edge-all topped with Milani Jewel FX in Red. My middle finger is a pathetic attempt at a football using Zoya Angelina and a random white striper

So there you have my less than wonderful attempt at a Super Bowl mani.

Are any of you sporting some spirit fingers today?

What team are you rooting for?

Cyanotic Nails

Hey Peeps!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was short because I only had one day off, but it was still nice.

As I mentioned before, my nails are going through a healing period right now, so I’ve been taking extra special care of them and moisturizing like a fanatic to get them back in shape. As a result I hadn’t painted my nails in like 2 weeks! *gasp*  They were on punishment 😦

Anyway, they’re almost back to the way I like them, so I decided to reward them with a pretty mani last night. I had an idea in my mind of a design that I wanted to do with blues, glitters, and one of the new Bundle Monster plates I got for my birthday, and here’s what came of it…

I started with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring and index fingers, and 2 coats of Misa On The Edge on my middle and pinky fingers. Then I added 2 coats of China Glaze Lorelei’s Tiara on my index, and 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe on my pinky. Lastly, I used On The Edge and plate BM02 to stamp the little lip prints on my ring finger. I smeared the stamp a little, but I’m still super happy with how it came out because I usually suck at stamping to the point that I can’t get the image to even transfer, so yay me! Anyway, here are my cyanotic nails:

Here’s a pic in natural light:

So that’s all for today my loves!

Let me know what you think of my cyanotic mani, and have a happy Monday!
