NOTD: My Birthday Cupcake Mani

Happy Thursday My Loves!

Today is a super special Thursday cuz its also my birthday! Yay!

My birthday is very close to Christmas so I never really get to do anything for it, but I’m off of work today so I’m super happy about that!

In celebration of my b-day, I decided to try my hand at some nail art. As I’ve mentioned before, I totally suck at it, which is why I almost never do posts featuring it.

Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of people do cupcake nails and think they’re super cute, so I wanted to give them a try. I wasn’t really happy with my results and so I wasn’t gonna post pics on the blog, but I posted a pic on Twitter and received support from some lovely ladies letting me know I hadn’t done as bad of a job as I’d thought (thanks ladies 🙂 )

So without further ado, here’s my birthday mani… On all but my ring finger I used 2 coats of FingerPaints Tiffany Imposter. I did the stripes and polka dots with Wet ‘n Wild French White Creme. The cupcake nail has 2 coats of Cult Nails Cruisin’ Nude as a base. The “paper” part of the cupcake was done with Tiffany Imposter and a random blue striper. The frosting is more French White Creme topped with Lynnderella The Glittering Crowd and a little rhinestone to finish it off. Peep it:

So what do you think of my little birthday mani?

I keep telling myself that one day I’ll be really awesome at nail art, but that’s probably not true, haha.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Lynnderella Snow Angel

Happy Sunday Peeps!

I had my work Christmas party last night and I’m still kind of wrecked from it, so I’m gonna make this post short on words.

Today I have the lovely Snow Angel from Lynnderella. This is one of her creations that I wanted the most because it’s so delicate and pretty, and perfect for winter.

It’s a shimmery base packed with white squares and hexagons. I lovelovelove it. The only thing is it’s a major topcoat eater. But that’s okay with me because it’s super gorgeous. In the pics below I used 2 coats of it over 2 coats of Orly Au Champagne. Check out the frosty goodness:

So what do you think of Snow Angel? I think it’s one of Lynnderella’s most popular polishes, and I can definitely see why.

If you wanna get your hands on it. Llarowe should be getting some more in stock early next month and Lynnderella may be selling them on her blog around the same time as well.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Layla Magneffect Turquoise Wave

Happy Thursday My Loves!

Today I have an awesomely amazing magnetic polish to show you. It’s Turquoise Wave from the Layla Magneffect line.

I have to say that I’m pretty sure magnetic polish is my new favorite thing. I didn’t think there was any polish that I could love more than a good holo, but this lovely proved me wrong! I painted my nails with it at work and everyone was super amazed by it.

The polish itself is pretty thick, but in a good way. It’s super pigmented to give you full coverage in one coat-though I learned that using two makes the effect more intense.

The magnet is on the lid which makes it super convenient. The trick is to hold the magnet as close to your nail as you can without touching it when the polish is super wet.  You can only do one nail at a time, but you only have to hold the magnet over your wet nail for like 5 seconds, so the process goes fairly quickly. It’s so cool cuz you can totally feel the magnet pulling at the particles in the polish when you do it.  What’s also awesome is if you don’t like the design you get you can quickly paint on another coat and redo it.

Anyway, enough with the words and on to the amazingness. In the pics below I used 2 coats of polish and held the magnet over each nail for 5-10 seconds. The magnet has a straight line going down the center of it, so I turned it at different angles to get different designs. Also, sorry that my cleanup isn’t that great…I painted my nails when I was at work just to test it out and I ended up loving it so much that I decided to take pics and share it with you guys! 🙂  Peep it:

Awesome right?! I’m so obsessed and in love with this polish! I can’t wait to try out the other colors that I got. I hope all of the nail polish companies jump on the magnetic bandwagon like they did with crackle because this stuff is amazing!

I bought this from Zappos.com for $15.50. They have super fast and free shipping, so if you wanna get your hands on a bottle, I’d recommend getting it there.

Anyway, that’s all for today folks! What do you think of this? Have you tried any other magnetic polishes? Are you in love with them like I am?
