Sinful Colors Savage-Revisited

Happy Tuesday Loves!

Today I have a reswatch of a little beauty by Sinful Colors: Savage

For some reason, the original post I did on this color is one of the most searched posts on my blog. That being said, I think my original swatches of it were pretty horrible so I decided to redo them and give this polish the love it deserves.

Savage is a really pretty matte turquoise that was randomly released at the beginning of this year. At first it wasn’t marketed that well, but I think it’s been included in some of their recent seasonal displays.

Anyhow, I really, really love this color. I own a lot of Sinful Colors, but this is the only time I’ve seen them make a matte, and they did a really good job with it. The formula is really smooth and it goes on completely opaque in 2 coats without any yucky streaking or chalkiness that you often see with mattes. Check it out (try to ignore the horrible stainage on my cuticles):

And just for fun, here it is with a top coat:

So what do you think of Savage?

Do you prefer it matte or with a topcoat?

Sinful Colors Amethyst and China Glaze Electric Lilac

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Sorry today’s post is a bit late, I couldn’t drag myself out of bed this morning. I’m still feeling kinda crummy so I’m gonna try to keep this short and sweet…

First up is Sinful Colors Amethyst. This is a beautiful purple creme that just came out in their new Go Plaid collection. I had to snag this baby because I love purples and I’m always excited when Sinful Colors come out with new shades.

In the pics below I used 2 coats. It went on perfectly and it’s super shiny even without a topcoat. Peep it:

As pretty as Amethyst is, I couldn’t leave it alone so I decided to top it off with the glittery goodness of China Glaze Electric Lilac.

Electric Lilac is a gorgeous lilac jelly packed with tons of pale blue, pink and purple glitter. It’s freakin’ amazing. In the pics below I used one coat of it over Amethyst:

See why I can’t get enough purple polish and why I have more purples than any other color in my stash? It’s because of beauties like these two.

Let me know what you think of these lovelies, and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

True Blood Nails: True Death Mani

Happy Sunday Peeps!

How does the weekend go by so fast?

Boo for the fact that today being Sunday means tomorrow is Monday, but yay for that fact that today being Sunday means that I’ll get my weekly True Blood fix tonight 🙂

Anyway, I have a quick mani that I did for this weeks installment of True Blood Nails. It didn’t come out exactly as I’d envisioned, so it’s kind of a fail, but oh well.

My plan was to recreate the bloody. disgusting mess that a vampire becomes when they meet the “true death” on my nails. I painted all but my ring finger with Wet ‘n Wild Black Creme, then I splattered on Cult Nails Quench and Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby. Then I painted my ring finger with silver Sally Hansen Celeb City because “silvering” is one of the ways in which a vampire can meet the “true death”. Check it out:

What do you think? Does the red splattered on the black look anything like the bloody pulp the vamps explode into when they die?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend loves, and for you Truebies, enjoy the show tonight!
