Pop Tart Nails

Happy Monday Loves!

Sorry I left you guys without a new post for so long. 2 weeks just flies when you’re busy!

Anyway, today I have a super cute mani that I did using Lacquer Convention Pop Tart and OPI Red Lights Ahead…Where?

Pop Tart is a super awesome polish that’s made to look like the frosting on a pop tart. I think it nails it, cuz it totally looks like a strawberry pop tart to me. I freakin’ love it!

I decided to pair  Red Lights Ahead…where? with it because it reminds me of the color of the filling in a strawberry pop tart. I was kind of disappointed that Red Lights Ahead leans super coral on me, with barely any hint of red because I was really, really wanting it to be red. But I got over it because it turned out to be perfect for this mani.

In the pics below I used 2 creamy coats of Red Lights Ahead on my middle and pinky fingers, and 3  easy coats of Pop Tart on my ring and index. Peep it:

So what do you think of my little pop tart mani?

I love how it came out! Pop Tart is definitely a super fun polish that I see myself wearing again and again. My only regret is that I only got the mini bottle instead of the full-size one.

If you’re loving Pop Tart, you can stalk Lacquer Convention’s Etsy shop here, and try to snag yourself a bottle next time she opens up shop. The mini bottle like I have is only $2.85.  A steal, right?

That’s all for today my loves! Have a magnificent Monday!

NOTD: OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! & Milani Gold

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

Yay for Tuesday because it’s not Monday! 🙂

Over the weekend I got a random idea for a blue and gold mani in my head. It was one of those ideas where I was like, “I have to take off my current mani and make it happen right now!” The only problem was that I was pretty sure I had gotten rid of every gold nail polish that I owned because I hate the way it looks on me.

After reaching out for some gold polish ideas on Twitter, and googling gold nail polish like crazy, I realized that I still owned a couple of gold polishes from China Glaze’s Winter collections (because China Glaze polishes are my precious and when I have the entire collections I refuse to part with any single color 😉 ).

Anyway, the mani I have for you today is the result of my idea manifested on my nails 🙂 In the pics below, I used 2 coats of OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! on all but my ring finger. I wanted to bling up my ring finger with Milani Gold, but I didn’t wanna have to use 4 or 5 coats, so I used 2 coats of China Glaze Champagne Bubbles as “underwear”, then I only needed 2 coats of Gold. Do you like?

If you don’t own Yoga-ta Get This Blue!, you need to buy it. I had my bottle for a couple of years and had forgotten what a beautiful blue it is. Plus, the formula is flawless.

Milani Gold is pretty awesome too. You get a good amount of glitter with each brush stroke and you don’t have to fiddle with the glitter chunks too much to get an even application. Plus it’s so cool and blingy! It’s sounds cheesy, but I get why they call it a “Jewel FX” because it’s totally like you have little jewels on your nails. I love it!

Anyway, that’s all for today my loves! Let me know what you think of this gold and blue mani, and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Easter Chick Nails

Happy Easter Peeps!

I’m super excited because I usually have to work every Sunday, but I’m off today for the holiday so I have a 4-day weekend. It doesn’t get much better than that 🙂

First off, I realized that yesterday I forgot to mention a couple other bloggers that let me know they’d be doing some blue posts for Autism Awareness month. They are:

Anyway, I was originally planning on doing a simple mani for today, but yesterday afternoon I got the itch to try out some nail art (even though we all know that I royally suck at it).

Because I’m very challenged when it comes to nail art, I had to do something that would be fairly simple, and it had to involve dotting tools because they’re pretty easy to work with. In the pics below you’ll see what I came up with. My dots aren’t perfectly spaced, and I smeared a couple of them a bit when I applied top coat, but overall I’m pretty proud of my final result.

On my index and pinky fingers I used 2 coats of China Glaze Kinetic Candy, and on my middle finger and thumb (not pictured) I used 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey. Then using a small dotting tool I randomly placed dots over each nail using China Glaze Happy Go Lucky.

To create the little chick on my ring finger, I used 3 coats of Happy Go Lucky, then I drew the little broken shell on my tips using OPI Alpine Snow and my dotting tool. I finished it off using Wet ‘n Wild Black Creme for the eyes and Zoya Paz for the little beak. Peep it 😉

So, as I said before, I’m pretty happy with how these came out. It took me an exorbitant amount of time to do this, and I redid my ring finger like 5 times, but it was worth it.

That being said, I think I’m gonna continue to stay far away from nail art (unless it’s a special occasion), because I’m just not naturally good at it so it takes way more effort than I’m willing to exert on a regular basis.

Are any of you wearing a special Easter mani today?

Let me know what you think of my little chick nails, and have a Happy Easter! 🙂
